The designer surprised the audience with exciting silhouettes such as ¾ length trousers, unique art-deco-inspired photo prints and an eclectic mix of materials such as silk, cashmere, leather, cotton, wool and viscose. The collection evolves around the deux-piece in a variety of combinations: a jacket with a skirt, pants or dress for women and a shirt with pants, jacket or a tie for men, executed in the same photo print design and/or the same colour scheme varying from neutrals to must have browns and blacks and rich elegant colours like green, red and purple.

Tuesday morning we had a lovely surprise at the office. Sinterklaas had surprised Spice PR with a visit!!Everybody got a really cool American Apparel Nail polish and of course somedelicious ‘pepernoten’. Like every Tuesday morning we start the day with our weekly meeting. On Wednesday Julie and I had a Replay event in George W.P.A. During the event Nikkie Plessen was presented as the newest ambassador for Replay. The food (as always) was great! Back at the office I had to send out the press release about Nikkie for Replay. I was asked by one of my best friends Liza to join here to a benefit for the Health E Foundation. After the dinner you could place your bids on some amazing prices but this one was my favourite. Unfortunately I went home empty handed but I had a great night!

After quite some busy weeks (Bas For Zeeman launch, TASCHEN store opening and so on) it was finally time for a more structured week, well structured...Things at Spice never go the way you expect them to go, but that makes the job even more fun! A lot of appointments outside the office this week were a great way to enjoy the beautiful weather we finally had in Amsterdam.

Monday my colleague Tedje (thank you for driving me through Amsterdam the whole week) and I had a great lunch at The great Room (Canal House). With a beautiful view over the great summer garden we enjoyed lunch and talked over all pending things we are working on. All of a sudden I saw this beautiful lady and recognised her because of her cute little dog Licorice, it was Famke Janssen.
Another day, another inspiring meeting... This time with James and Georgina from Canal House at café George. We discussed some very exciting plans and we left with lots of great ideas. After that we had to say goodbye to our Coebergh colleague Leroy. After years he left the company and we had a nice intimate goodbye drink at Het Molenpad. A busy evening because Tedje and I also went to the Bulgari Store at the PC Hooftstraat because of the Bulgari | St. Pellegrino launch. A beautiful designed bottle which will be served in some top restaurants and venues. We ended the week with a great meeting with Bulgari and had lunch at Mazzo. Also some exciting upcoming plans, so in a nutshell it was a very nice and productive week! Saturday and Sunday will be all about finishing my own new 'place to be'...my new home!

This week once again made me realize how proud I am of our team of hardworking Spice-girls, who all have the ability to think out of the box, take that extra step and are approaching this business in a non-conceptual way.

Quite a week with lot’s of events! We celebrated Jeffery Wests’ 1st anniversary with a very personal and inspiring performance of Ellen ten Damme, the Back to the Future NIKE Mag auction took place at the Planetarium with all proceeds donated to the Michael J. Fox foundation, The Bas Kosters for Zeeman launch was one of the most fun events we’ve ever done, The Supperclub 20th Anniversary party was a true celebration of everything Supperclub is famous for: A cool mixture of people, great music, sexy performances and the nicest finger foods. The TASCHEN Amsterdam opening brought together fashion people, architects, artists, photographers, make up artists and celebrities for a super nice opening event, hosted by the highly inspirational Mr. Benedikt Taschen. The Acne SS12 women’s presentation London was AMAZING, The Avelon Sample sale…crowded… All this, next to the regular work filled with emails, brainstorm sessions, meetings and preparations for the upcoming National Glamour Breakfast, Claes Iversen show, Filippa K event and so much more….

All Spice girls did and do amazing job to make everything happen! Without Claire, Tedje, Candy, Julie, Froukje, Tessa, Willa, Hansje, Puck, Martina, Elisah and our lovely interns, Spice wouldn’t be Spice! And I have the privilege to guide them here and there…

I recently took a family trip to Marrakesh, a place I have always had a strange relationship with as it’s such a big fashion subject. But then I went, I saw and it kicked me. This crazy melting pot of cultures, era’s, nationalities and influences – it is kind of the way I work fashion and I started to think of how a young woman from Stockholm would interpret this amazing place. Trying to capture these different influences we worked with denim, double silk and raw edged double cotton, creating a multicultural vibe. Thirty-two models paraded along a 50 meter long mirrored catwalk to a thumping house soundtrack. In line with the shows modernest Marrakesh Vibe, Yves Klein Blue waiters served Vodka martini's.

Bas Kosters and Zeeman joined forces to bring a unique collection of underwear and sleepwear. Together with Zeeman, Bas Kosters shows that design can be made super affordable, which fits perfectly whit his ‘anti-fashion’ philosophy. The collection is playful and has a 70’s American sportswear sense. The colourful prints, inspired by sailor tattoos, are specially developed by Bas Kosters for this collaboration. BAS FOR ZEEMAN has a limited circulation and is available exclusively at Zeeman Benelux, Germany and France, starting from September 19^th 2011.
